The Precious Blood of Christ.

17 And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one’s deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile,
18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold,
19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you
21 who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. – 1 Peter 1:17-21

He catches the wise in their own craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are brought to a quick end. – Job 5:13

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12

5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats,
6 and you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month, when the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill their lambs at twilight. – Exodus 12:5-6

God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. – Acts 2:24

having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. – Colossians 2:12-15

Our Father judges impartially, He has no favourites, He does not let some off and judge others harshly. He is the perfect judge who knows the thoughts and intents of our hearts. Therefore we should live our lives with the fear of God while we are exiles: in this world but not of this world. We have been ransomed from the way we used to live our lives in the flesh by the precious blood of Christ. No amount of wealth, no amount of human goodness, no amount of our own sacrifice can buy us back from the fate we deserved. Only the precious blood of Jesus, slain as the perfect lamb of God who had no blemish, can pay for our sins. The perfect Passover lamb killed so that the angel of death will Passover the households that have the blood of the lamb on the door posts and lintel of their homes. Before the world began God knew He would send His Son to die on the cross for us, to shed His precious blood for us, to set us free from death and hell, Jesus, who was then raised from the dead. Now we are alive together with Him, our sins forgiven, all nailed to the cross and we are destined for glory. Our faith and hope is in God. Not a blind hope but hope based on the fact that God raised Jesus from the dead. The perfect sacrifice accepted, the Son of God glorified.
